The Third Session of the Sixth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China has decided to establish the Drafting Committee for the Basic law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, Which shall be in charge of drafting the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The Drafting Committee for the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall be responsible to the National People's Congress and, when the Congress is not in session, to its Standing Committee.
The Drafting Committee
for the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
shall be composed of people from various quarters and of experts,
including those from among the compatriots in Hong Kong. The
name list shall be decided upon and announced by the Standing Committee
of the National People's Congress.
